This system will run a medium size refrigerator (18 cu.ft), small freezers, lights, fans, computers, blenders, microwaves, powertools, etc. The Xantrex Inverter will surge to 3000 watts to start larger motors. The Honda 2500 watt generator, unlike other generators, can be run continuously. Typical gas generators (for example Home Depot's) will burn up if they are not shut down every 70 minutes to cool off. The 6 Batteries store 6000 watt hours of useable power or enough power to run 300 energy efficient (100 watt equivalent) light bulbs for 1 hour. The 50 Amp or 600 Watt Battery Charger inside the Xantrex Inverter automatically comes on when you turn on your generator or you connect with utility power. This rapidly charges your battery whenever you run your generator or AC power comes on (after a blackout for example.) Since the generator is 2500 watts and the charger is only 600 watts, you still have almost 2000 watts going thru the charger to your typical household loads. When the batteries are back up, turn your generator off and you are back on silent 95% efficient inverter power automatically. So fast that even your computer won't know the power was interrupted. With the Honda Generator you can run an air conditioner up to 10, 000 BTU's, extra large refrigerator/freeers, computers, microwaves, dishwashers, fans, pumps, TV's, powertools, lights, battery chargers, etc. When the generator is turned off, the Xantrex inverter comes on automatically within a fraction of a second. The 1500 watt DR1512 can run a medium size refrigerator/freezer (up to 24 cu.ft), fans, computers, TV's, lights, small power tools and pumps. It can surge up to 3500 watts. Whenever the generator is turned on (when batteries get low) or if the power comes back on (after a blackout), the inverter automatically turns into a 70 amp or 850 watt battery charger. It is a 3 stage battery charger especially designed for quickly recharging deep cycle batteries. While the generator is running your house, the extra power beyond what the house uses, is used efficiently to charge the batteries Once the batteries are recharged, you can shut off the generator and switch automatically back to silent inverter power at up to 95% efficiently. This system will run typical homes or small business. The EC-94 modules are added on for special effect. Surprisingly these two modules will run an 8 cu.ft. top loading freezer 24 hours a day with only one 12 volt battery. Whether for emergency back-up in an area experiencing constant power outages like the Dominican Republic (6-10 hrs/day) or for a remote paradise island home (zero power available), Energy Efficient or Energy Star (U.S D.O.E Rated) appliances are equal to the generator and inverter/charger in importance. The Honda EX-5500, 5.5 KW generator is Honda's most popular model (due to it's high cost/benefit ratio) at only $3,450.00, high output and extreme portability (comes with handles and wheels.) It can run refrigerator freezers, most window air conditioners, heavy duty pumps and power tools. Again, it can be run continuously. Diesel generators are often used for reasons of lower fuel cost, safer fuel storage, and less maintenance. (Depending on the application.) Above 5KW Diesel is usually prefered. Propane is great since you can use it to cook with, run your refrigerator, and water heaters. That depends however on local availability and cost.The Xantrex DR2412 is the most popular inverter/charger in most Caribbean countries where power outages are as long as 23 hours/day everyday (Haiti.) The DR2412 works the same as all other inverter/chargers (the battery charger turns on when AC power becomes available, 2 milliseconds automatic transfer to inverter mode when the generator or utility power comes on.) 24 volts or higher is best in larger hybrid systems, 2500 watts and above. This way less amperage (current) is used. The higher the amps, the more ressistance, causing wasted energy in the form of friction or heat. The cooler an inverter runs, the more power it can provide. The DR2412 has higher (8600watts) surge power because of this. it is also a more efficient battery charger. |
