Intersolar, Munich, Germany: another broken solar record.

You just had to see the exhibitor directory and you knew: under “solar modules”, by product type, over 650!

SMA Inverter’s booth: about 250 people from opening to closing every day. And, they were completely sold out way before the show started.

It took 3 days to go to every booth, only if you used every hour and moved fast, which I did.

Munich? Beautiful, like Spring, nice people, fantastic toy store Obletto’s. Upon returning to Miami, Johnny Kimball., my son, 5, determined the conference had been a huge success.

companies who don’t completely exist

How many times have you seen it. “Everything in stock and ready to ship” and “we’ll beat anyone’s price or we’ll give you 110% of your money back”. Well more often than not, they don’t “it” or a “warehouse”, maybe a garage. They might be in the middle of nowhere (the remote mountains of Cal., deserts of New Mexico, or  an island in the Fla. Keys (not that I don’t like that).

On their web site they like to show every solar panel and inverter in the world on beautiful web sites (their main product = a web site). “Everything in stock” means it simply exists some where (could be on the space shuttle, a cruise ship in the North Atlantic, or at the bottom of the Marianna Trench. The truth is, it all  has to be ordered and then dropped shipped by someone people have never new about. Any complaints or requests for things you need about it, have to be thru a third party, them. What a nightmare.

And, if they’re “110% guaranteed better prices”, and you can see the price, why do they have to add that . Why don;to they just say it. “Call us after you look at all the other prices and we will beat it if we can”. Great business model, Ace, Macy’s, and Piggly Wiggly should try that.

We mean it when we say it’s in stock, ready to ship and go ahead and compare our prices with anyone. No need to give you phony guarantees (by the way read the fine print on those things, its surprising…. not.

Have you ever noticed that what a person says and what they do aren’t the same,  in advertising. I guarantee that’s the truth and if you don’t believe me I will apologize 110%. Note: Claimant must provide proof of a witnessed lie of equal specifications and content. Offer expires on your last birthday.

Sun Announces: $1.50/watt solar installers club

To join you just have have proof of enough installation experience and agree that your average installation charge is $1.50/watt. The number was obtained from one of America’s foremost authorities on PV installation costs. Contact info@sunelec.com and tell us you agree and send us your solar business history, include photos if possible and we will include you in the list we update every month or so for installers on our web site home page. You will be recommended to all the people we sell system packages too. It’s growing fast and will become quite substantial very soon. We sell about a dozen system packages averaging 5Kw a month and frankly we don’t know who installs them.

Send us your Pictures, Please

If you have pictures of a solar electric house or any solar installation that you think people would enjoy seeing we would like to show everyone on the web site. It is good for people to know because it spreads the use of solar faster than anything else. Especially if you show the people who bought it with happy faces. It’s nice too know what they are running too.

Off Grid homes are more than welcome they are cost effective without incentives and that’s important enough. Also tell us what it’s like. If you have any pictures of your local area that’s great too. We have some with 25+ ft. Anacondas, Grisly Bears, Sperm Whales with their friend James, resorts with swimming pools in the rain forest (beautiful). Totally on hybrid solar systems. That’s what I’m talking about.

Thank you to all of you that have sent in photos from around the world.

For the best photos we have a surprise. If you sent some in already send them again to be included. We have 500 of them we could give away, ideal photo is installation, building, short story, pictures of owners (family if home), what your run, local environmental shots.

What is it? If we told you it wouldn’t be a surprise. Hints: it runs on the sun, of course, it’s faster than most people my age can run or it transforms into a whole bunch of the things that are very cool., or you can just have a free solar panel.
